Student answer (Band 6.0)
This concern grabs attention from every concern of the globe because its a senstive topic. Clean water is a basic need for every single person. I strongly agree that purified water should be free for everyone because its a natural esource as well as it fullfil basic demand among individuals.
Water pollution increased at its aceme and its been hard for public to consume fresh water. Nowadays, mostly people get clean water after being paid and it adds additional expense in public pocket. Moreover, public those cannot afford it, they consume chemical water. For example, In Canada recent research shown 70% of population pay for water and rest consumes tap water. Furthermore, instead of charging from public to have fresh water, government should impose penalities to those make water contaminated such as, industries and so on.
In addition, government should install purified pipe lines in homes or clean water stations free in all cities so, one can have easy and fee acess to water. Apart from this, authorities must gernate awareness among public on its importance and how they can make water clean in their homes too. For instance, Indians boiled water before intake with simple process, they consume clean water without any cost. This not fullfil public basic need but also prevent from water bron diseases.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that everyone has right to have clean water and authorites should put sight on this concern too so, every individual have free supply of water to their homes. It makes a postivite difference in the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that clean water should be free, and the conclusion returns to this view. You address practical measures, including government-funded pipelines or water stations and penalties for polluting industries, so the response is relevant to the question. The discussion also gives examples, such as boiling water in India. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: the Canada statistic is not clearly connected to why household water should be free, and the claim that people who cannot afford treated water consume “chemical water” needs clarification. To strengthen the response, explain how free provision could be funded and distinguish access to safe water from the costs of treatment and delivery.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The main ideas generally progress from the problem of water pollution to government action and household access. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “In addition” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. At times, however, the connections feel mechanical or the references are unclear. For example, “it adds additional expense in public pocket” does not specify whose expense is meant, while “This not fullfil public basic need” has an unclear reference to the preceding example. Grouping each paragraph around one main claim and using clearer links between evidence and explanation would make the progression more fluent and cohesive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “water pollution,” “purified,” “contaminated,” “awareness” and “water-borne diseases,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “impose penalties” and “basic human right.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the reader pause: “senstive,” “aceme,” “fee acess” and “gernate” are difficult to process, and phrases such as “chemical water” and “public pocket” are not natural in this context. Aim for accurate, conventional collocations and check spelling carefully. A more controlled range—for example, “safe drinking water,” “household water supply” and “water-treatment costs”—would express your ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a proposal introduced by “instead of.” This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur across sentence structures, verb forms and agreement. For example, “its a natural esource as well as it fullfil” needs a clearer parallel construction and corrected verb forms; “research shown” is missing an auxiliary, and “everyone has right” needs an article. Some long sentences also combine several ideas without secure punctuation, as in the sentence beginning “Furthermore, instead of charging.” Practise building accurate complex sentences, checking subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms, and separating closely related ideas with appropriate punctuation.
