Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this globe, water resources is the only resourse which covers majority of the earth. Even having more water consumeable water is very less which have been making many people have access to water. Where a question always comes whether water should be provided free of cost. In this question i would somewhat agree but would not completely agree which i will menton below.
Firstly, talking about the agreement point, water is one of the essential resourse which is required in every task of human from cooking to cleaning to farming. We have been hearing news of many people travel many kilometers inorder to find safe water for daily use where they get limited water just for daily needs not for farming which results them into financial hardship. This example solely connects many problems like not able to farm leads to financial problem which could lead to economy problem of a nation, who are dependent on argriculture. So having no access to water affects many human lifes as many basic works cannot to done without water.
Secondly, as consumeable water is limited within the globe inorder to have safe water, goverments need to setup filteration sites, setup pipelines, do maintainance and many other works to have water in every house or locality which needs money. It would eventually make many nations struggle. The second point is human have a nature not respecting things we get for free where many people could waste water if there no limit and is for free. So giving water for free could lead many nations to struggle financially.
In conclusion, i think water is basic human need and ust be given free but not completely where setting up a basic limit could help money and water both.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the central question and maintain a qualified position: water should be free for basic needs, but not without limits. The discussion of water’s importance for cooking, cleaning and farming is relevant, and the example of people travelling long distances to obtain it helps explain the consequences of poor access. You also give a reason for not making supply entirely free by noting the costs of treatment and pipelines and the risk of waste. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the link between free water and national financial difficulty needs clearer support, and the proposed basic limit is not defined or justified in detail. Develop this solution and connect each example more explicitly to your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your qualified view, two body paragraphs present contrasting considerations, and the conclusion returns to your position. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. This meets the expectation of coherent organisation, and the paragraphs each have a recognisable focus. To make the flow more natural and precise, reduce reliance on formulaic signposting and improve links between cause and effect. For instance, the chain from lack of water to farming difficulties, financial hardship and national economic problems is understandable but compressed. Some references, such as “the second point,” are also vague; name the idea directly so readers can follow the argument without having to infer it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “essential,” “financial hardship,” “pipelines,” and “basic limit.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both access and infrastructure rather than relying only on very general terms. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the phrasing less clear, as in “resourse,” “consumeable,” “filteration,” and “argriculture.” Several expressions are also unnatural, such as “water resources is the only resourse” and “human have a nature not respecting things we get for free.” Aim for accurate collocations and forms, and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for water treatment, household consumption and public funding would help express your ideas with greater control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which results them into financial hardship” and a conditional idea about what might happen if water were free. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “water resources is” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “many basic works cannot to done” has an incorrect verb pattern. The opening also contains a sentence fragment beginning “Where a question always comes.” Practise building complete sentences and checking agreement and verb forms, especially in longer sentences. More accurate control of these patterns would make your reasoning easier to read.
