Student answer (Band 5.5)
Water is a necessity these days in every country. We can say it is a basic requirement of human beings. From drinking to doing household chores we need water every single time. But, unfortunately many people suffer a lot due to lack of proper water supply and are deprived of this blessing.
In rural areas of our country there is no proper system for water supply. People have to go far away from their homes even to get a bucket of water to fulfill their needs.
Even in urban areas we have to purchase water for drinking and sometimes for doing household tasks. In a country where there are many expenses we have to manage to give bills for water supply.
People living in village are deprived if water supply and those living in cities have to pay large bills to fulfill water requirement. In my opinion, government should provide proper system for water supply.
Clean water for drinking should be provided to the door steps and if this is not possible proper filtration systems should be installed where water must be free of cost.
Moreover, water for doing household chores, using washrooms should be provided separately through water pumps installed in every home and this must be free of cost because it is duty of government to provide this basic need to people.
If i simplify this need in an example i would say that rural areas people do not get enough water to use washrooms and for cleaning purpose which results in a lot of health issues.
Therefore, steps should be taken to provide clean water to people

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a position in favour of government-provided water, and the examples about rural residents travelling for water and urban households paying for it are relevant to the question. However, the response only partly develops the central issue of whether every home should receive water free of charge. It shifts between free drinking water, filtration points, and separate household supplies without explaining how these proposals would work or whether all water use should be free. The health consequences are mentioned but not illustrated in detail. To strengthen the response, state your position more precisely in the introduction and develop two main reasons with specific explanation or examples, while addressing the practical implications of providing water at no cost.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable sequence: it introduces water as a necessity, describes problems in rural and urban areas, and then proposes government action. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the point about rural and city residents is repeated in “People living in village are deprived…” after similar examples have already been given. Connections such as “Moreover” and “Therefore” are used, but the final conclusion largely repeats the recommendation rather than drawing the argument together. Organise the body around distinct reasons, avoid restating the same contrast, and use clearer links between each problem and the proposed solution. This would make the overall line of argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “water supply,” “filtration systems,” “household chores,” and “health issues,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There is some repetition of basic terms such as “water,” “people,” and “provide,” and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, including “give bills for water supply” and “fulfill water requirement.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Aim to use more precise collocations and vary repeated wording—for example, distinguish between “access to safe drinking water” and “domestic water use.” Check word forms and spelling as well, such as “doorsteps” and “villagers,” to make the vocabulary more accurate and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including the conditional structure “if this is not possible” and the reason clause “because it is duty of government.” However, errors occur often enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to process. Examples include “People living in village,” “if i simplify this need,” and “rural areas people do not get,” which show problems with articles, sentence construction, and capitalization. The sentence beginning “Clean water for drinking…” also combines several proposals without clear grammatical control. Practise accurate plural and article use, and divide long sentences into shorter units when they contain several ideas. More reliable control of these patterns would make your argument clearer.
