Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary society, the issue of clean water is becoming increasingly prevalent, sparking a considerable debate. Everyone has birthright to gain pure filtered water. That is why, every house should have access to clear water without any cash. I completely agree that all citizens have claims to get crystal clear water free because it is a basic need for every living thing.
On the one hand, it is inevitable that the problem of spotless water is becoming more vulnerable. Drink clean water is necessary to stay healthy. If residents do not drink germ-free water, people will face significant number of problems which may lead to harmful disease and sometimes death happen such as cholera, diarrhea and other problem with digestive system. For instance, in a city of Nigeria, people did not get pure water, that is why, for surviving citizens always drink contaminated water. Due to this, the population was rapidly fall in a year.
On the other hand, the issue is profoundly paradoxical with inevitable challenges, a balanced approach is required. Many people spend a huge amount of money on filtered water because of this they cannot fulfil their other basic needs. The Government has the responsibility to provide clear water to all the community without any cost. Government should set filter tanks on the main areas of city, where people get germ-free water.
To conclude, the clean water is becoming a huge problem, nowadays. The Government alike to ensure that this is an integral part of our social framework. So, hope we will find a sustainable solution.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that clean water should be free, and the response stays focused on access to safe water. You give relevant reasons, especially the health risks of contaminated water and the financial burden of buying filtered water, and you suggest government provision through public filter tanks. However, these points are not developed equally. The Nigeria example is vague and its claim about the population falling is not explained or supported, while the proposal for filter tanks does not fully address how every home would receive a reliable supply. Explain the example more carefully and develop how free provision could work to make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This makes the overall argument easy to identify. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the second body paragraph opens with “profoundly paradoxical” challenges but does not explain the paradox, and the shift from household costs to government filter tanks is abrupt. Some linking phrases, including “That is why” and “Due to this,” are used mechanically or connect claims whose relationship needs clearer explanation. Build each paragraph around one main point, then use explicit cause-and-effect links and clearer references to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You show an adequate range and attempt more formal or topic-specific vocabulary, including “basic human right,” “contaminated water,” “germ-free,” and “sustainable solution.” The meaning is generally understandable, but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision. For example, “the problem of spotless water is becoming more vulnerable” does not express the intended idea clearly, and “crystal clear water” is less suitable than a precise term for safe drinking water. “The issue is profoundly paradoxical” also seems mismatched to the argument. Prefer accurate, natural collocations over elaborate wording, and check word forms and spelling, such as “diarrhea” in the context of the other listed health problems.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more complex forms, including conditional sentences (“If residents do not drink…”) and a relative clause (“where people get…”). The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across sentence patterns. Examples include the missing article in “Everyone has birthright,” the faulty construction “Drink clean water is necessary,” and the verb-form error in “the population was rapidly fall.” There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “people did not get pure water, that is why…” and “hope we will find.” Work on articles, gerund or infinitive forms, past-tense verbs, and punctuation between independent clauses. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentences clearer.
