Student answer (Band 6.0)
Facility of clean water to every citizen is the basic human right. Therefore, I strongly believe that each home should have a supply of water that is absolutely free to use. Many people suffer from the water-born diseases only because they do not have the access to clean water. Additionally, every government charge taxes and in return they should provide basic facilities to their citizens and water is one of the most important basic need of human being.
In many countries, individuals espacially who are living in deprived areas suffer from diseases because of unfiltered water. One of the main reason behind this is they do not have the resources to affort clean water for themselves. That is why, they forced to drink water regardless of its purity. For example, in many areas of interior sindh in Pakistan, humans and animals are drinking water from the same lake. In uban cities like Lahore, drinking water is considered clean but the laboratory test showed it does not contian necessary nutrients as well.
Almost every government charge significant amount of money from the earning of their citizens in the name of tax. Therefore, government should be responsible for providing at least basic facilities to individuals and ensures their well-being. Providing access to clean water to every home is the right of people because of their contribution in the state. Some developed countires like Germany take around 40% from the income of their citizens but ,in return, they make sure to provide more than baisc facilities to their citizens.
In conclusion, every human must have an access to at least clean drinking water for free that will help in their growth. It is also a responsiblity of government because of the tax amount they collect from the citizens.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you strongly support free household water, and the conclusion restates this view. You address both the human-rights argument and the government’s responsibility, supporting them with examples from Pakistan and Germany. These points are relevant, but they are not equally developed. The example of people and animals sharing a lake illustrates unsafe water, yet the Lahore laboratory-test claim is unclear and does not directly explain why water should be free. The tax argument also needs more explanation of how public funding would provide a reliable supply to every home. To strengthen the response, develop each example and clarify whether you mean all water use or a basic amount of clean water.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present supporting reasons, and a conclusion summarises your position. The progression from health risks to government responsibility is logical, and linking phrases such as “Additionally,” “Therefore,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical, and the relationship between points is occasionally unclear. For instance, the Lahore water-testing claim follows the example of shared lake water without explaining how the two examples relate. The final sentence of the second body paragraph also moves quickly from Germany’s tax rate to public services. Use clearer references and explain the link between examples and your main claim to make the progression more seamless.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “water-born diseases,” “deprived areas,” “unfiltered water,” “resources,” and “well-being.” This gives you enough range to discuss public health and government duties, but several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the expression less natural and sometimes less precise. Examples include “Facility of clean water,” “affort clean water,” “basic need,” and “baisc facilities.” Some phrases, such as “water is considered clean,” are also too broad for the point you are making. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for water access and public provision would help you express your ideas with greater control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because they do not have the resources” and a relative clause in “facilities … they provide.” Most of your meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and reduce accuracy. For example, “every government charge” needs subject–verb agreement, while “they forced to drink” is missing an auxiliary verb. Articles and number are also inconsistent in phrases such as “the basic human right” and “one of the most important basic need.” The sentence beginning “Providing access…” has a subject–verb agreement problem in “government … ensures.” Review agreement, articles, and complete verb forms, then proofread punctuation, especially around “but” in the Germany example.
