Student answer (Band 5.5)
Water is an essential component for human survival. I believe that access to clean water is a basic human right. So it is important to have water supply in every home and it should be provided in free of cost.
Since water is a basic human need, everyone should be able to access to it easily. For our day-today life from morning to night , water plays a significant role. water is the most precious thing than anything in this world. In addition, the food we are having everyday require water for its growth. Furthermore, usage of water not only restricted to food and drink, it is also essential for bathing, washing vessels and clothes, cooking and cleaning etc.
So government should take the considerable actions to supply water to each home for free of cost. Since it is a basic human need, it should be satisfied by the government. There are lot more techniques like underground pipelines and large tank installation by which water supply can be given every homes.
From my own knowledge, in some places of our country, it is already implemented. In india, the river water is supplied to so many homes. For example, Kavery river water travels long distance through underground pipes and supplied for many villages. If we see there are lots of river in the world, by implementing this idea almost all the cities and villages will get their water supplied to their home. In conclusion, i think it is very significant to have water supply for every home.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that every home should receive clean water free of charge, and you give relevant reasons, including water’s role in drinking, food production, washing and cooking. The example of river water being piped to villages also supports your view. However, several points remain general or under-developed: explain more fully how governments could fund or manage a free service, and develop the example to show its relevance to the proposal. The conclusion repeats your position but does not add a final reason. The response is 247 words, so it is three words below the required minimum; the nine words copied from the prompt are not counted. This shortfall, alongside limited development, keeps the response from fully addressing the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from your position to reasons, a practical suggestion, an example and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and connectors such as “In addition” and “Furthermore” signal added points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive: several sentences restate that water is essential without extending the argument. “So” is used to begin more than one paragraph, and the final paragraph shifts from a local example to a broad claim about all cities and villages without explaining the link. Some sentence connections and references are also unclear. To improve, organise each paragraph around one main claim and use linking expressions selectively to show the precise relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “basic human need,” “underground pipelines,” “river water” and “water supply.” There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “significant role” and “considerable actions.” However, the range is limited and some choices or combinations sound unnatural, for example “provided in free of cost,” “day-today life,” “large tank installation” and “water supplied to their home.” Repetition of “water,” “basic” and “significant” also reduces flexibility. Aim to learn common collocations for public services and infrastructure, and vary repeated terms where appropriate. More precise vocabulary would make the argument clearer and more natural without changing its meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including clauses beginning with “Since” and “by which,” so there is some variety. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect fluency. Examples include “everyone should be able to access to it,” “the food we are having everyday require water,” and “water supply can be given every homes.” These show problems with verb patterns, subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, as in “night , water” and the lowercase “water” after a full stop. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and complete grammatical patterns; then proofread punctuation and capitalisation.
