Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that households should receive clean water free of charge. You give relevant reasons, including public health, preventing waterborne diseases, and helping poorer families, and you mention government investment in purification plants. These points address the question, but the discussion is only partly developed. For example, the agricultural point is introduced without explaining how it supports free household water, and the health benefits are mostly listed rather than illustrated with a specific example. The response also shifts between free water and water at a minimal rate, leaving the exact policy less consistent. To strengthen the argument, explain how the service could be funded and clarify whether all water use or only essential household supply should be free.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: it states a position, gives reasons, and ends with a recommendation for government action. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “Moreover” help signal additional points. However, progression is not consistently clear because several ideas are crowded together, and some connections are mechanical or incomplete. The agriculture sentence, for instance, appears as a separate point without a clear link to the argument about household access. The final section combines affordability, inequality, government responsibility, and purification funding, then ends with an unclear sentence. Use clearer paragraph divisions, give each paragraph one main reason, and connect each supporting example explicitly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “contaminated water,” “waterborne diseases,” “public health,” and “financial burden,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “sustainable” and “fundamental right.” However, the range is limited by repeated use of “free,” “water,” and “availability,” while several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “polluted free,” “complimentary service,” and “delivered to their door step”; “Cmean” also appears to be an unintended or unclear word. Aim for precise, natural combinations and check spelling and word forms. More varied terms such as “safe drinking-water provision” and “subsidised supply” could help express the policy more accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a reason clause beginning “due to” and a conditional structure with “If water is available.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “every home have,” “it must be provide,” and “Healthy people can contribute” following a run of sentences with missing or inconsistent punctuation. Sentence boundaries are often unclear, as in “Contaminated water can cause serious health issue.it can prevent…” There are also problems with articles, agreement, and verb forms. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time; proofread for full stops, capital letters, and agreement.
