Student answer (Band 5.0)
Water a basic and fundamental need of every living bieng. Although today we as human being are deprived of clean water. Let alone animal and other living beings even humans donot have access to clean and potable water. Water is a basic human need our bodies are 70% made up off water and when we do not have access to clean water we became vulnerable to many diseases that spread or caused by dirty water or due to the lack of water. I think water should be basic human right like many other humans basic rights. Access to clean and potable water should not be a luxury but a fundamental basic human right. In cities every home should have water supply line of potable water tested by authentic lab. The PH balanced water should reach every kitchen. While growing up in mountains i saw women carrying water pitcher on there heads and the have to travel distance of kilometers to fetch fresh water from natural water reserviors. These women spent much of there precious time fetching water from kilometers away. I think storage tanks should be built to connect these fresh water reserviors to villages so the women do not have to travel kilometers to fetch only a few litters of water. While mountain have fresh water reservioers the desert people do not even have those reservioers. On the really hot days it becomes very difficult to spent days with littel or np water. Most pf the people living in deserts suffer from dehydration and diseases caused by water. Government should take necessary step to make the water available.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a relevant position in favour of treating clean water as a basic right, and the examples of women carrying water in mountain communities and people facing shortages in deserts help show why access matters. However, the response does not fully address the key proposal that every home’s supply should be free of charge: it argues for access and government provision, but does not explain whether or how the service should be funded. Several points, such as water-related disease and the need for storage tanks, are introduced but not developed with clear explanation or support. State your position on free provision explicitly, then develop a small number of reasons and explain how each supports that position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response moves from the importance of water to examples from mountain and desert communities, so a general line of thought is present. However, it is written as one long paragraph, and the progression between ideas is difficult to follow. The opening repeats the claim that water is a basic need, while transitions such as “While growing up in mountains” and “While mountain have fresh water” do not clearly signal how the examples relate to the argument about free household supply. Some sentences also run together, making relationships between points unclear. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, examples and conclusion, and connect each example explicitly to the question of free access.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “potable water,” “dehydration,” “storage tanks” and “water supply line,” which helps communicate the subject. There is some attempt to use more specific language, but word choice and spelling are often inaccurate or repetitive, and these errors sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “reserviors,” “littel,” “donot” and “bieng” are misspelled, while “basic and fundamental need” repeats the same idea. Phrases such as “authentic lab” and “PH balanced water” are not expressed naturally in this context. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, and vary repeated terms such as “basic human right” with precise alternatives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentence forms, including the contrast beginning “Although today…” and the sentence explaining that dirty water can cause disease. However, many sentences contain errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms, and some are fragments. “Water a basic and fundamental need” lacks a main verb, while “the have to travel” and “we became vulnerable” show problems with subject–verb agreement and tense. Punctuation is also inconsistent: several ideas are joined without clear sentence boundaries, and the opening uses a fragment after “Although.” Practise writing complete sentences with one main idea each, then check verb forms and agreement before combining ideas into complex sentences.
