Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You state a clear position in favour of free household water and give relevant reasons, including affordability, health and the risk of waste. However, the response addresses the issue only partially: the reasons are mostly asserted rather than explained, and the discussion shifts between clean water, mineral water and water businesses without clarifying how these relate to a free public supply. For example, the claim that water-related conflict could affect the economy is not developed or supported. The conclusion is incomplete, so it does not effectively restate your position. The response is also 23 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your argument. Explain each main reason with a clear example and finish with a complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and linking expressions such as “The first advantage” and “Other disadvantage” signal new points. However, the progression is difficult to follow because ideas are added without clear connections or explanation. The paragraph beginning “Other prons” is only a fragment, while the next paragraph combines water waste, scarcity, conflict, business and government revenue. Connect each paragraph to one main point, and explain how that point supports your position. Use linking words selectively and accurately rather than beginning many sentences with “and” or “because.” A complete conclusion would also give the essay a clearer overall shape.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “basic need,” “health,” “waste” and “economic,” so the general subject is recognisable. However, the range is limited and repetitive, and frequent spelling errors make several phrases difficult to understand, such as “unclearn water,” “disadentage” and “devellopment.” Some word combinations are also unclear or unnatural, including “the water quantity is low” and “the no hydration.” Aim for accurate, topic-specific expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, distinguish between clean tap water and bottled mineral water, and use precise terms such as water supply, water scarcity and public funding to express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to express reasons and consequences, but sentence structures are very limited and errors are frequent enough to obscure meaning. The opening contains a sentence fragment after “human right,” and “every home should provide suplly” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Other examples include “people are not afford,” “they can used,” and “people can not value,” where verb forms or sentence construction are faulty. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, particularly where sentences begin with “and” or “because.” Practise building complete subject–verb sentences first, then combine related ideas with accurate clauses. Check verb forms after modal verbs and use full stops to separate distinct points.
