Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is always a debate going on whether water supply should be provided free of charge or it should be of some cost. Access to clean water is a basic right of every human since water is being consumed in our daily lives. I partly agree with that water supply should become free of charge due to serveral reasons.
In my opinion, nowadays supplying water has turned into a business and it is being sold in expensive rates and poor peoples can't afford it anymore due to its high costs, therefore government should take various steps to make the clean water available for all humans. It can happen in multiple ways as the government does charges tax from public people, they can utilise them by providing clean water to save people from various health issues as water is being used in cooking, drinking etc. During the summers people are working out from there homes and drinking dirty water from sink as they are unable to purchased waters from shop as there labour are not that much and it makes their immune systems weaker if they have access to clean water on the roads they can prevent from drinking dirty water.
However, supplying unlimited amout of water in free can decline its importance as people can start wasting the water or use it for other purposes that is not required, so some measurements should be taken to handle these type of issues by supplying a limited amount of water at each home and then charge the amount for more excessive use. This will not even disturb the businesses who are filtering the clean water and selling it.
To conclude, a limited supply of water should be given in each area especially on public places to create a positive enviornemnt and stop people from having different health issues however measurements should be taken to how to deal people who are wasting the water and not understanding the importance of it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear, though qualified, position: you “partly agree” with free water, while arguing that excessive use should be charged. Your points about affordability, health and conservation are relevant, and the conclusion returns to the need for public access. However, the response does not fully develop the central proposal that every home receive a free supply. The example about workers drinking dirty water from sinks is difficult to follow, and the discussion of businesses that sell filtered water does not explain how a free household supply would affect them. Clarify what amount should be free, who should receive it, and how this would be funded; then support each main reason with a more precise example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph supporting access, a counterpoint about waste, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “However” and “To conclude” help signal the direction of the argument. At times, though, sentences contain several ideas joined together, making the progression harder to follow—for example, the long sentence beginning “During the summers people are working out from there homes” moves from workers’ circumstances to dirty water and health effects without clear steps. Some references, such as “This will not even disturb the businesses,” are also unclear because the relationship to the previous point is not explained. Use shorter units to develop each point and make links between claims explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “basic right,” “health issues,” “immune systems,” and “limited amount,” which allows you to communicate the main argument. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “excessive use.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “sold in expensive rates,” “poor peoples,” and “public people,” and spelling errors such as “serveral” and “enviornemnt” reduce precision. Some repetition of “water,” “people,” and “clean” also limits flexibility. Build accuracy by learning common collocations—for example, “sold at high prices” and “low-income households”—and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if they have access to clean water … they can prevent” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but some errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and verb forms remain. For instance, “I partly agree with that water supply should become free” needs a grammatical complement such as “I partly agree that the water supply should be free,” while “government does charges” and “they are unable to purchased” show problems with verb forms. Long sentences also make punctuation and clause relationships difficult to control. Practise building accurate complex sentences, then check subject–verb agreement and verb forms before combining clauses.
