Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Being provided with clean water is a fundamental right, that must be afforded by everybody.
I agree that it is a bsic human right and should be provided free of cost to every home, it is a core right that must be afforded by every indivial living space without any costs since it is a basic necessity not a luxury.
To live a life without clean water is challenging task. Doing everyday chores or leading a healthy life without clean water is nearly impossible. If it was an indulgence then disagreeing with this statement might have sounded sane but here we are talking about a really important source to live life easily so only an entitled human being would not be agreeing with this statement.
Living in a developing countries there are many examples around us of people struggling to get access to clean water specially for drinking and how its causing them to fall sick and catch water-borne diseases and not even having access to basic healthcare is making it worse for them, only if they had had clean water they would not have to deal with all of this.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be supplied to every home without charge, and you give relevant reasons, including its importance for daily chores and health. The example of people in developing countries facing water-borne diseases also supports your view. However, the response addresses the task only partially because these points are asserted rather than explained in depth, and there is no developed example or consideration of how free provision could work. The response is also below the required 250 words. To strengthen it, explain the consequences of water insecurity in more detail, add a specific example, and develop a second supporting reason, such as the effect of water costs on low-income households.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the opening states your position, the next paragraph explains why water is essential, and the final paragraph gives a public-health example. This gives the reader a basic route through your argument. However, the response has no clear overall progression beyond repeating the same central claim, and the ideas within paragraphs are not always connected smoothly. For example, the sentence beginning “If it was an indulgence” shifts abruptly into a judgement about “an entitled human being,” rather than developing the previous point. The final sentence also combines several related consequences without clear separation. Use distinct paragraphs for each reason and connect each claim to its explanation and example with precise linking and referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “fundamental right,” “basic necessity,” “access to clean water,” and “water-borne diseases.” These choices help communicate your main ideas, and there is some attempt to use less common language. However, the range is limited and several choices or spelling errors reduce precision, such as “bsic,” “indivial,” “indulgence” for a basic necessity, and “sane” in this context. Phrases such as “leading a healthy life” and “live life easily” are also broad or repetitive. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For instance, you could refer to “safe drinking water,” “water-related illnesses,” and the “financial burden” on households.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the conditional structure “If it was an indulgence…” and the clause explaining that lack of healthcare makes the situation worse. The main message remains understandable. However, control is uneven, particularly in longer sentences, and punctuation sometimes obscures the relationships between ideas. In “Being provided with clean water is a fundamental right, that must be afforded by everybody,” the comma incorrectly separates the defining clause. “Living in a developing countries” has an article and number agreement problem, while “To live a life without clean water is challenging task” is missing an article. Break long sentences into shorter units, and check articles, agreement, and clause punctuation.
