Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that acessible safe driking water is a fundamental right. While some people believe that it must be supplied to each household without any charge. I firmly agree with their perspective because water is the basic neccessity and its free supply will significantly benefit the lower income group.
To begin with , the primary reason why I hold this view is that without water livelihood is next to impossible . This is largely because it is required in almost every household chores starting and even for the servival. For instance , starting from the basic hygen to the food preparation , all it needs is the water .Which clearly demonstrate that how precious and useful the water is.
Moreover, another compelling reason is that , today the world is facing water scarcity and big industrialists used this opportunity to sell water at a highest price. When there is a high cost of water , individuals are more likely to use the unhygenic and impure sources of water . This is particularly evident in people in the dried region of Maharasthra and other parts of the world are using the unsuitable sources like ponds etc . for their everyday routine. Therefore, facing serious health concerns such as water borne diseases and weak immune system, further reinforcing the argument that water should be provided to every home free of charge.
To recapitulate , I strongly favour the view that safe and accessible drinking water is the basic human need and it should be provided to every home free of cost as its requirement is essential and the value it delivers to each section of the society makes this approach more beneficial.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that water should be supplied to every home free of charge, and you return to this view in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons: water is essential for daily life, and high prices may push people towards unsafe sources. The examples of household uses and people in Maharashtra help make the argument relevant. However, the first reason is mostly asserted rather than explained, and the second would be stronger with clearer evidence or a more specific illustration of how free household supply would address scarcity and affordability. The response covers the task and has a clear stance, but some ideas remain less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Its progression from water’s everyday importance to the risks of unaffordable water is logical, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moreover” and “To recapitulate” help readers follow the argument. Some linking is mechanical, however, and punctuation occasionally interrupts the flow—for example, the opening “While” clause is left as a sentence fragment, and “Which clearly demonstrate” is separated from the preceding sentence. The long sentence beginning “This is particularly evident” also makes the relationship between the example and the health consequences difficult to track. Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing would make cohesion smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “fundamental right,” “water scarcity,” “impure sources” and “water borne diseases,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “compelling reason” and “reinforcing the argument.” However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “acessible,” “neccessity” and “hygen,” and several word combinations are unnatural or imprecise: “household chores starting and even for the servival,” “at a highest price,” and “dried region.” These choices sometimes make the reader pause. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this would make your vocabulary more precise and flexible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex structures, including a reason clause with “because” and a conditional construction beginning “When there is a high cost of water.” The overall meaning can usually be followed, but some sentence structures are faulty. “While some people believe that it must be supplied…” is a dependent clause presented as a complete sentence, while “Which clearly demonstrate…” is also a fragment. There are agreement and article problems in “all it needs is the water” and “which clearly demonstrate,” and the sentence beginning “This is particularly evident” lacks a clear grammatical connection to the following clause. Review clause boundaries, subject–verb agreement and article use, then proofread punctuation so complex sentences remain controlled.
