Student answer (Band 5.5)

Getting the clean water is everyones' fundamental right and it should be accessible with free of cost. I strongly agree with this statement.

Water is consiered as valuable as someones' life. One cannot survive a day without water and lack of water can cause dehydration. Every country has enough water resources and it is not expensive to pump it. Without clean water, one can get sick with severe diseases much as dyrhea, typhoid etc. There are so many international organizations working on the basic human rights to ensure people can meet their basic needs including having access to clean water.

From my personal experience, I can say one should drink only clean water because I once got dyrhea. When I reached to doctor for consultation he let me knew because I was attacked with dyrhea for drinking polluted water. After that I notified my landlord the water they are supplying is polluted and can not be drunk. They immediately took action and made accessible to clean water.

Also, water is needed in daily life taks and chores. Without clean water, one cannot maintain hygine and perform household works.

In Bangladesh, government runs a project to ensure all classes including lower middle class family also get the clean water access. For this, one just has to apply for Tubewell in the Upozilla office and government set a tubewell in that person's house without taking a single penny. Through this project, Bangladeshs' people are getting benefited day by day.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear from the opening: you strongly agree that clean water should be freely available. You give relevant reasons, including health, hygiene and the Bangladesh tubewell project, and the personal account helps illustrate the risks of polluted water. However, the response does not fully develop the central claim that every home should receive water free of charge. For example, saying that countries have enough resources and that pumping is inexpensive is asserted rather than supported, and the government example could explain more clearly how it demonstrates universal free household supply. The response is also three words below the required minimum. Develop the reasoning and explain how the examples support your position more explicitly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: it states a position, gives reasons, adds a personal example and ends with a national example. Paragraphing generally separates these points, and transitions such as “From my personal experience” and “Also” help signal movement between ideas. However, progression is somewhat list-like: the health, household and government points are introduced but not consistently linked back to the argument about free provision. Some connections are abrupt, particularly the shift from the personal story to household chores. Use clearer topic sentences and linking explanations, and make references such as “this project” more explicit. This would create a more sustained line of argument rather than a sequence of related points.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “fundamental right,” “dehydration,” “polluted water,” “human rights” and “household works.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and there is some attempt to use topic-specific language. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “consiered,” “dyrhea,” “hygine” and “taks.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “accessible with free of cost” and “let me knew.” Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions for public provision and water safety would help you explain the argument with greater clarity and flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You communicate your main position using mostly straightforward sentence patterns, and you attempt some longer structures, for example, “Without clean water, one can get sick…” and the sentence describing the doctor’s explanation. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. Examples include “Getting the clean water is everyones’ fundamental right,” “one should drink only clean water because I once got…,” and “government runs a project,” where sentence construction, agreement or article use needs attention. There are also problems with possessives and sentence boundaries. Practise building accurate complex sentences with clear subjects and verb forms, then proofread each sentence for articles, agreement and punctuation.
