Student answer (Band 5.5)
Drinking clean water is a fundamental right for all human beings. Providing clean water to people is a vital thing that should definitely be free. I totally agree with this statement.
There are a number of benefits are associated with the idea of accessing pure water free of charge. First of all, we are living in a middle-class country. People can not afford a lot of money for diverse situations. As an example, if poor people have to pay a small amount of money for fresh water, they can't, and they easily drink normal water. As a result, a society can face lots of problems accessing drinkable water. Secondly, some specific areas have no proper source for clean water. For that, people have to walk a long way to collect a little bit of pure water. Also, the local residents of this area are not always welcoming to people from other areas. Consequently, sometimes it can lead to a big argument between those people.
In addition, firstly, water is called another life for humans. By drinking pure and clean water, people can lead a better life. As a result, humans feel happy and refreshed. Moreover, using clean water is also necessary for people. As an example, if water is polluted and many people use it, then it could cause different diseases and harm their health. Consequently, people have to pay a lot of money to recover from this harmful situation.
In conclusion, water is one of the most significant things for people. So, accessing this fundamental need to everyone's home for free will be great blessings. Thus, I totally agree with the statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you agree that clean water should be free. You give relevant reasons, including affordability, limited local water sources, and the health risks of polluted water. However, the response only partly develops the task: it does not explain how a free household supply would be provided or address possible costs and practical concerns. Some points are also unclear or insufficiently supported, such as the claim that residents may be unwelcoming to people collecting water. Develop fewer reasons in more depth, with a specific example and a clearer link to free household provision, to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion, and the reader can follow the broad sequence from affordability and access to health. Linking expressions such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “Consequently” help signal relationships. However, progression is uneven: the second body paragraph begins “In addition, firstly,” which combines signals awkwardly, and several ideas are joined mechanically with “As a result” and “Moreover.” The paragraph about collecting water also shifts to conflict without a clear explanation of how this supports the central argument. Organise each paragraph around one main reason and use clearer references and transitions between supporting details.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “fundamental right,” “polluted,” “diseases,” and “recover.” There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “provided free of charge” in the task idea and “local residents.” However, word choice and collocation are noticeably inaccurate or repetitive in places: “normal water” is unclear, “another life” is not a natural expression, and “great blessings” does not fit the sentence naturally. Repeated use of “clean,” “pure,” and “water” also limits variety. Choose precise terms such as “untreated water” or “safe drinking water,” and check whether phrases sound natural in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if poor people have to pay…” and “if water is polluted…”. These help express cause and effect, and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, errors occur often enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. For example, “There are a number of benefits are associated” incorrectly combines two clause structures; “people have to walk a long way” is followed by the unclear construction “For that”; and “will be great blessings” is missing an article and has an awkward sentence structure. Review clause formation, articles, and punctuation, and proofread each sentence for a complete, grammatically consistent structure.
