Student answer (Band 5.0)
Acces to clean water is basic human right. Thats why every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. I disagree with this statement because if its free the society will not use it properly. I think the small charges should be apply for clean water from each home.
In one hand, in my country there is lot of water problem even it is developed city like Pune. I think nowdays the drinkable water is free still, I am watching society not using it properly. In my area there is lot of drinking water problem because many people wasting water too much. So I think gorvenment must apply charges for the clean water even its a human basic right. Not to mention in future cleaning water is going to be major problem cause lot of people wasting and not managing it properly and neatly.
Other hand, We can see the many people are not got enough water for drinking and its main problem is the water supply never reaching to them. So, government should give and supply the water according to family members because many peoples use more than enough water and wasting it. Maximum socities are poor in my country so i think the water should be free for them.
In conclusion, due to human right everyone is wasting water then i think government must apply charges for clean water. For the poor families the charges should be less because overall human tendency always waste free things so i strongly disagree to everyone should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you disagree with free water for every household and support charges, with lower costs for poor families. The examples about water waste in Pune and unequal access are relevant, and you do address both the right to water and how it should be supplied. However, the reasoning is limited and sometimes unclear: the claim that people waste water because it is free is asserted rather than supported, and the point about supplying water according to family size is not explained. The response contains 245 words, so it is five words below the required minimum; the 24 words copied from the prompt are excluded. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or example to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so the reader can identify the main stages of your argument. You also use linking expressions such as “In one hand,” “Other hand,” and “In conclusion.” However, progression between ideas is not consistently clear: the second body paragraph shifts from unequal access to family-based supply and then to poverty without showing how these points connect. Some linking phrases are inaccurate or repetitive, and the conclusion repeats the claim about waste rather than drawing together the two arguments. Use clear topic sentences and connect each supporting point explicitly to the paragraph’s central idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “clean water,” “water supply,” “charges,” “human right,” and “poor families,” which makes your general meaning understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “Acces,” “gorvenment,” “socities,” and “drinkable water” where “drinking water” would be more natural. Phrases such as “cleaning water” and “wasting water too much” are also imprecise or awkward. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for water access, conservation and affordability, and check spelling and collocations carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional idea in “if its free the society will not use it properly” and a reason clause beginning “because.” This shows an effort to express relationships between ideas. However, the range remains limited, and frequent errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “the small charges should be apply” needs a passive form, while “many people are not got enough water” has an incorrect verb construction. Missing articles and sentence-boundary problems also occur. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add complex clauses and check each verb against its subject and tense.
