Student answer (Band 6.5)
Clean water access is a basic right of human beings. Therefore enough supply of water should be given to every residence, free of cost. I strongly agree with this statement because it will have a lot of health benefits to the people in underprivilaged areas and will promote equality among all the people on earth.
Millions of people in many regions of the earth do not have enough supply of clean water and it is extremely difficult for them to access clean water in that boiling weather . For instance, people in Kenya and many other african countries walk miles away just to get some water to their homes and that water is still not suitable for drinking because of their sources which are mainly dirty ponds.
Water is necessary for every human to continue proper functioning, so free access to clean water will assist the people living in least developed cities by improving their health as contaminated water is very dangerous for the health of human beings. providing water will also promote equality between the people. For example, in many nations with insufficent water, water is considered to be a symbol of wealth and high quality of life.
I will conclude that every country should try to provide filtered water to their people without charging them any money. Govenments can play a very significant role in giving access of water to every residence by investing in clean energy as solar panels and filtering dirty water by modern techniques and technologies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you strongly agree that homes should receive clean water without charge. You address the health and equality aspects of the issue, and the examples of people in Kenya travelling long distances and water being treated as a sign of wealth are relevant. This covers the main task effectively. However, the reasons are not developed equally: the health argument is explained through contaminated water, while the equality point is asserted more briefly. The conclusion also introduces government investment in solar energy and filtration without explaining how these measures would ensure a free household supply. To strengthen the response, explain how free provision would work and develop each supporting point with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation or a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present supporting reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. The progression from access problems to health and equality is generally easy to follow, and phrases such as “For instance” and “For example” help signal evidence. Some links between ideas are less smooth, however. The second body paragraph moves from health to equality without a clear transition, and the final sentence shifts to government measures that have not been prepared for in the preceding discussion. Repeated references to “water” and “people” also make the cohesion somewhat mechanical. Use more precise referencing and connect each paragraph’s main point to the next, especially before introducing policy solutions.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “contaminated water,” “filtered water,” “developed cities,” and “symbol of wealth.” These choices make your main ideas clear, and you attempt some less common expressions. At times, however, word choice and collocation are inaccurate or repetitive: “enough supply of water” is less natural than “an adequate water supply,” while “access of water” should be expressed as “access to water.” There are also spelling errors in “underprivilaged,” “african,” “insufficent,” and “Govenments.” These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and control. Aim to use topic-specific phrases consistently and proofread spelling, particularly in key terms and proper nouns.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because it will have a lot of health benefits” and a relative clause in “water … which are mainly dirty ponds.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “providing water will also promote equality” begins a new sentence with a lowercase letter, and “water is necessary for every human to continue proper functioning” has an awkward grammatical construction. In “people … walk miles away just to get some water,” the sentence is understandable but would benefit from more controlled phrasing and punctuation. Work on sentence boundaries, articles and natural clause construction, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
