Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is an ongoing debate about how governments should distribute their financial resoucres to benefit society. It is believed that one of the basic human right has access to clean water, however every home in the country should have a water supply that is free of cost. I agree with this opinion because water that is free of germs is as important as other needs of human life. One of the main reason for this is that most of the diseases has come from dirty water and when people drink this, they pose to serious threats from different bacterias that are in uncleaned water. To cope with these problems, people should have water filters in their houses so they get clean water. Meanwhile, governments should have to launch some programmes in which people can get water filters that have no charges and also accquire knowledge who to use them. The other reason is that pure water is very important for growing vegetables even at home. This is because when people insert filters in their water tanks then these filters extract impurities from it and provide clean water, so they also use this water for plants and vegetables. In this way, people get fresh and germ-free vegetables. For example, in China, citizens use large filters for cleaning of water and they also use this water for growing their crops so they get clean yield. That's why, filters are very important for cleaning of water impurities. In conclusion, in the contemporary world, pure water is one of the important need of human life. But to obtain this, governemnts should have to provide such water filters that are free of cost. And every citizen used these filters at home even at their fields so they do not face any water disease problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is stated clearly: you agree that households should receive clean water without charge, and you give reasons related to disease prevention and growing food. These points are relevant, but the response only partially addresses the proposal because it shifts from providing a free water supply to providing free filters. The distinction matters: filters do not necessarily ensure that every home has an adequate supply of water. The health argument is also asserted rather than explained with a specific example, while the China example is broad and does not clearly support the claim about household access. Develop the case for free water itself, explain how it could be funded or delivered, and support each main reason with a precise example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “One of the main reason” and “The other reason,” and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “Meanwhile,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” help show the intended relationships between ideas. However, progression is weakened because the discussion repeatedly returns to filters, and the connection between free water and free filters is not made explicit. Some transitions, including “In this way,” lead to claims that are not fully established. The conclusion repeats the recommendation rather than drawing the argument together. Organise each paragraph around one clear reason for free water, then use a specific explanation and example to develop it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “clean water,” “impurities,” “bacterias,” and “germ-free,” and attempt more formal expressions such as “ongoing debate” and “contemporary world.” However, the range is limited by repeated use of “water,” “filters,” and “important,” and several word choices or forms are inaccurate: “resoucres,” “acquire,” “bacterias,” and “cleaned water” affect precision. Phrases such as “pose to serious threats” and “clean yield” are not natural collocations, so the reader may need to infer your meaning. Build a more precise set of terms for water provision and public health, and check spelling, plural forms, and collocations when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a conditional structure with “when people insert filters.” Meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur throughout. For example, “one of the basic human right has access” does not form a correct clause, and “most of the diseases has come” has a subject–verb agreement problem. In “every citizen used these filters,” the verb form does not fit the intended general statement. Commas are also missing after introductory clauses, and some sentences run together. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and use full stops to separate complete ideas before adding more complex structures.
