Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear position in the opening, saying, “I strongly agree,” and give relevant reasons: water is essential for survival and is needed for drinking, cleanliness and household chores. However, the response addresses the question only minimally. It does not explain why water should be free of charge, distinguish basic household access from unlimited use, or develop the opposing view introduced in the final sentence (“According to the Critics…”). The ideas remain general and are not supported with a specific example. The required minimum length is not met: the response is 83 words short. To strengthen the answer, develop two reasons with explanation or examples and respond directly to the concern about scarcity and cost.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening gives your position, a following section discusses the importance of water, and the final sentence introduces a counterargument. Some links, such as “As we all know” and “According to the Critics,” signal how ideas relate. However, the ideas are not arranged into a clear, complete progression. The long middle section repeats that people cannot survive without water, while several points are joined in a run-on sequence, making relationships between them difficult to follow. The final counterargument is left unfinished. Use separate paragraphs for your position, developed supporting reasons, and a response to the opposing view; connect each point clearly and avoid repeating the same claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “survival,” “migrations,” “essential element,” and “house chores,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main point. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the message less clear or natural, such as “neat water,” “aimlessly,” and “scarist.” Repetition of “water,” “live,” and “impossible” also limits precision. Aim for accurate collocations and a wider set of terms for the issue, such as “safe drinking water,” “public water supply,” and “water scarcity.” Check spelling carefully, and choose words that express the intended meaning rather than relying on approximate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “A man cannot live if it is not available,” and uses simple statements to communicate the central position. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “As we all know that survival without water is impossible” combines an unnecessary introductory phrase with “that,” while “it is essential element of the life” has problems with articles. The long sentence beginning “so this is compulsory” also joins several clauses without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea each, checking articles, subject–verb agreement, and sentence boundaries.
