Student answer (Band 5.5)

With the increasing population, fresh water is becoming more demanding in a constant rate, and in some parts of the world it has already been comercialized by the corporate companies. In my view, water should be accessible for every human in the world.

Human can't live without water. More than 70% of our body is made of liquid. To maintain a healthy lifestyle, a person needs to drink approximately three liters of every single day. If an individual doesn't drink enough water, he/she will be dehydrated and in the worst cases they may also be hospitalized. In desert countries dehydration is a very common case to be witnessed.

Clean water isn't only necessary for consumption but it is also a basic requirment to maintain hygen level. Without clean water we can't cook and clean. Using cntiminated water to cook food or clean iteams may cause severe illness which can be harmful for our health. In India, more than thousands of people visit hospital every year with problems releted to absence of hygen.

For millinia, water used to be basic human right. In the early civilization, cities were built by the rivers to have acess of the fresh water. A good example would be the Egypt, India, and Bangladesh. For thousands of years, people of this region used to live by the rivers which was their only source of fresh water.

In conclution, our survival were depends on clean water as it depends the food and water is a basic right of a human, so it should be provided without a charge.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe water should be available to everyone without charge, and you give relevant reasons concerning drinking, hygiene and human history. The examples about dehydration and communities near rivers help explain why water is essential. However, the response focuses mainly on access to clean water rather than directly examining whether household supply should be free. It does not consider the costs of providing and maintaining water services or explain how free provision could be funded. The historical paragraph is relevant but its link to the question is not fully developed. To strengthen the response, address the free-of-charge aspect explicitly and extend each main reason with a clearer explanation or specific example of how it supports your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs on drinking and hygiene, a historical example, and a conclusion. This makes the main ideas reasonably easy to follow. However, progression between points is sometimes mechanical: the paragraphs largely present separate reasons without showing how they build a case for free household supply. The historical paragraph, beginning “For millinia,” feels less connected to the preceding discussion, and the conclusion repeats the position rather than drawing the reasons together. Some linking and reference choices are also unclear, such as “which was their only source,” where the reference could be more precise. Use topic sentences that connect each paragraph to the question and add transitions that clarify the relationship between your points.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “dehydrated,” “contaminated water,” “basic human right” and “fresh water.” These choices communicate the central ideas, and you attempt some less common terms. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “comercialized,” “hygen,” “cntiminated” and “absence of hygen.” Phrases such as “water is becoming more demanding in a constant rate” and “a very common case to be witnessed” are difficult to express naturally. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they limit precision. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations, for example “demand for fresh water is increasing” and “a common occurrence.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple sentences and more developed structures, including conditional forms in “If an individual doesn’t drink enough water…” and a relative clause in “which was their only source of fresh water.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence structure and agreement. For example, “Human can’t live” needs a plural or article, “a person needs to drink approximately three liters of every single day” has an incomplete construction, and “our survival were depends” combines incompatible verb forms. There are also errors in articles and number, as in “the Egypt” and “more than thousands of people.” Review subject–verb agreement, verb forms and article use, then proofread each sentence while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
