Student answer (Band 5.5)
Human life is highly dependent on access to clean water. That is why, water that is drinkable and clean enough to be used for cleaning purposes. Water is a resource that needs to be spent wisely but access to it should be easy and free of any charges.
Regions where clean water is not provided to the people have the most number of deaths caused by water born diseases. For instance,in Karachi the largest city of Pakistan people die every year becqause of lack of access to clean water. People face a great number of difficulties when they are obligied to drink dirty water out of desperation and scarcity of a natural resource which should have been made easy to acquire by the governmental strategies.
Also, majority of the population in Pakistan lives below the poverty line which makes it a luxury for them to buy bottled water and even it is a immense problem of them to pay water bills. To overcome this financial burden individuals prefer to bring water from the nearest source of water. It does not bother them if the water is particulary clean and safe enough to be used to drink and used in food making.
To summarize, the main point. Every home should have a water reservior that can store clean water for daily use with out any charges.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a relevant position by arguing that clean water should be accessible without charge, and you support this with examples about water-related deaths in Karachi and the financial pressures faced by poorer households in Pakistan. These points show an understanding of the issue. However, the response only partially develops the task: the opening sentence fragment (“That is why, water that is drinkable…”) does not clearly state your argument, and the conclusion shifts to a water reservoir rather than directly restating whether every home should receive a free supply. The response is also below the required 250 words, which limits the space available to explain your reasoning. Develop the position more fully and clarify whether “free” means no charge for all household use or a basic amount of water.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure: it introduces the topic, gives two paragraphs of supporting reasons, and ends with a summary. The examples about disease and household costs are grouped in a generally sensible order. However, progression is uneven, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, “To summarize, the main point” is an incomplete transition, while the final sentence introduces a reservoir without explaining how it follows from the argument about free supply. Linking phrases such as “Also” and “For instance” help, but the connections are sometimes mechanical or imprecise. Use a clear topic sentence for each body paragraph, explain how each example supports your position, and make the conclusion directly answer the question.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “water born diseases,” “poverty line,” “scarcity,” and “financial burden,” which helps communicate the main concerns. There is some attempt to use less common language, but word choice and spelling errors are noticeable and occasionally make the meaning less clear. Examples include “becqause,” “obligied,” “particulary,” and “reservior”; “water born” should be written as “waterborne.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “the most number of deaths” and “a immense problem of them.” Aim for accurate collocations and forms, for example, “the highest number of deaths” and “a major difficulty for them.” Proofreading spelling and choosing more natural expressions would make your ideas easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a natural resource which should have been made easy to acquire” and a conditional structure beginning “It does not bother them if…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. “That is why, water that is drinkable…” is a sentence fragment, and “Also, majority of the population” is missing an article. Other problems include “it is a immense problem” and the unclear construction “It does not bother them if the water is particularly clean and safe enough to be used to drink and used in food making.” Work on complete sentence structures, articles, and parallel forms; for example, use “safe enough to drink and to use in food preparation.”
