Student answer (Band 5.5)

Providing the supply of clean water is the need of every individual. However, this supply should be free of cost to every house. This essay agree with the statement because water plays vital role in our daily life from health to hygiene and it hydrates our body preventing from dehydration that leads to many healh issues. In addition, it ishould be totally free of cost because the people who can not afford the prices of the water bills can get benefit from it.

I agree with the statement because water has a very important role in our daily activities. It is considered as the basic human need. Moreover, it is also required to clean ourselves and our homes where do we live. Shortage of water will leads to many serious concequences including health and hygiene maintainance.Another important thing, water is also important for chemical reactions happening in our body to keep our mrtabolism balanced. If shortage of clean water occurs the cells of the body start to shrink and body become dehydrated that leads to the condition dehydration.

The middle and lower class families can not be overlooked. An important concern raises about the spendings. Mostly people can not affort the cost of water bills that a famous company charges to pay. Thats why suppply of the clean water should not engage them to pay. For example in many coutries, death rate in a specific area of underdevelop countries increases due to shortage of clean water suppply.

To conclude, I agree with the essay staement because it will protect peolpe from compromising their health and to not to pay for that water that is the responsibility of state

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be free, and you give relevant reasons about health, hygiene, and affordability. The discussion of dehydration and the difficulties faced by middle- and lower-income families shows an attempt to explain why the issue matters. However, the response only partially develops the argument. The health points are repeated, while the claim that water should be free because some people cannot afford bills needs fuller explanation, such as how public funding could ensure access without waste. The example about rising death rates in developing countries is broad and not clearly connected to a specific place or evidence. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The ideas are generally grouped by topic: health and hygiene first, then affordability. Basic linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “In addition,” and “For example” help signal relationships between points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas repeat rather than build on one another. For instance, the first body paragraph returns repeatedly to dehydration and health effects. Some connections are also awkward or incomplete, such as “Another important thing” and the shift from water bills to death rates. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main reason, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “basic human need,” “water bills,” “shortage,” and “dehydrated,” and you attempt some less common terms such as “chemical reactions” and “metabolism.” This gives the response enough topic-specific language to communicate its main points. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear: “the spendings,” “engage them to pay,” and “the condition dehydration” are examples. Spelling errors such as “healh,” “consequences,” “maintainance,” and “suppply” are also noticeable. Aim to use more precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully; for example, describe households as being “unable to afford water bills.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a conditional structure beginning “If shortage of clean water occurs.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “This essay agree,” “Shortage of water will leads,” and “body become dehydrated.” The sentence “Moreover, it is also required to clean ourselves and our homes where do we live” has an unclear clause structure. Some punctuation is also missing between sentences, as in “hygiene maintainance.Another.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences with clear clause boundaries.
