Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years , clean water has been difficult to be found because of this many people agrue that clean water should be provided for free to every household and it is a citizens right to have access to clean water. i completely agree with this statement. As the facts are proven that many poor family cannot afford clean water which results them to drink unhygienic and filthy water and get sick .

One of the main reason is poverty has been increasing time by time and as the rates of clean water bottle has also been increasing which is resulted that families how cannot afford to buy water, uses water from canals or from dirty walls . as an example, the whole village has only one way for drinking water which is from unhygineic water supplies which increases the sickness and skin diseases throughout the village . With this , it has also been recorded in the news that most of the deaths in the small town villages are because of the scarcity of clean water.

Another reason is that companies has made water as a privilage to drink .As an example himalaya water or other artifical water brands which sell water at a higher cost and buyers buy all that high fashion water to be show that it is a benefical think to be drinken.

In conculsion, i strongly agree that water should be free of charge and should be provided to every household and not as profitable product.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction—“I completely agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including poverty limiting access to safe water and the high prices charged by bottled-water companies, and the village example helps illustrate the health consequences. This addresses the task, but the reasons are not developed equally or precisely. The discussion of poverty could explain how a free household supply would improve access, while the paragraph about branded water focuses more on consumer status than on whether every home should receive water free of charge. Develop this link and support claims such as the reported deaths with a specific, credible example or clearer explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from poverty and unsafe sources to commercial pricing is generally understandable, and phrases such as “One of the main reason” and “Another reason” signal the paragraph topics. However, connections between some ideas are mechanical or unclear. For example, “With this” does not clearly show how the village example leads to the claim about deaths, and the second body paragraph moves quickly from companies’ prices to people buying fashionable brands. Use more precise linking and explain the relationship between each example and your argument. Clearer topic sentences and more deliberate development within each paragraph would make the progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “clean water,” “scarcity,” “household,” and “skin diseases.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “provided for free” and “profitable product.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to interpret, including “agrue,” “unhygineic,” “privilage,” and “benefical think.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “water bottle has been increasing” and “high fashion water.” Choose more precise phrases for the intended meaning and check spelling carefully. Repeating “clean water” is understandable, but you could vary it with accurate terms such as “safe drinking water” or “a reliable water supply.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “which results them to drink … water and get sick.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence formation and agreement occur across the response. For example, “many poor family cannot afford” needs plural agreement, while “companies has made” also has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening sentence joins several ideas with commas, and the sentence beginning “One of the main reason” becomes difficult to follow because its clauses are not controlled clearly. Work on building shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with accurate verb forms and punctuation. This would make your reasoning clearer without limiting your attempts at complex structures.
