Student answer (Band 5.5)
Definitely, access to clean water is one of the basic and the most essential need of human life. It should be free for every human being as it is in abundance in nature and it is like a gift from the nature to humans. This is the sole responsibility of each government to provide free and clean water to every individual in their respective country. However, In reality its the exact opposite, many countries governments are unable to provide acces to clean to the population due to lack of infrastructure or basic population growth planning. Because of this many people around the world still lack access to clean water. In pakistan, almost 78% percent of the population do not have access to water due to not having proper supply lines. Even in major cities like karachi, hyderabad, lahore etc. water shortage is a very serious and always neglected problem. Here water shortage is cattered by private water tankers beared by the home owners beacues the government has zero interest in this regard. As a result, many childrens are born or lived with health problems. There is also another side of the story, many people still lack the managment of water. therefore, wastage of water is very common in pakistan.Governments all the world should make efforts to teach the useage of water to every person so the water crises can be reduced to an manageable amount. There should be more new technology to recycle the used water to clean and utilize it again in any new application to drop the use of water and store it for later stage,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be provided free, and you give relevant reasons, including water shortages, unequal access and the health effects of unsafe supply. The Pakistan example, with references to Karachi, Hyderabad and Lahore, helps make the issue concrete. You also recognise practical concerns such as infrastructure and water wastage. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: the claim that water is abundant in nature does not address the cost of treating and delivering safe water, and the discussion of recycling and education is not clearly connected to whether household supply should be free. Develop these links and explain how governments could fund provision while maintaining reliable services.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a generally understandable sequence: it states your view, describes access problems in Pakistan, and then turns to water management and possible solutions. However, the ideas are presented in one long paragraph, so the shift from the right to free water to shortages, health effects and recycling is difficult to follow. Several transitions are also abrupt, such as “There is also another side of the story,” which does not clearly show how the point relates to your argument. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting evidence and solutions, and make the relationship between each point explicit. Check referencing and sentence boundaries so readers can follow how each example supports your central claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “infrastructure,” “water shortage,” “private water tankers” and “recycle,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “supply lines” and “health problems.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear: “acces,” “cattered,” “beared,” “managment” and “useage” need correction. Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, including “gift from the nature,” “basic population growth planning” and “drop the use of water.” Build accuracy with common collocations for this topic, such as “access to safe drinking water,” “water distribution network” and “reduce water consumption.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including explanations with “as” and “because,” and the main argument is usually understandable. However, errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation recur. For example, “one of the basic and the most essential need” has a number-agreement problem, while “many countries governments” needs a possessive construction. The sentence beginning “Because of this” is attached awkwardly to the preceding idea, and several sentences run together without clear punctuation. There are also inconsistent capital letters after full stops. Practise forming accurate complex sentences and separating complete ideas with full stops; this will make your reasoning easier to read without limiting the range of structures you attempt.
