Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you agree that homes should receive clean water without charge, and you give relevant reasons about basic needs, poverty and health. The examples of drinking, cooking and washing help explain why water matters. However, the response addresses the task only partially because the reasons are mostly asserted rather than developed. For instance, you say free water would help poor families and reduce disease, but do not explain how a free household supply could be funded or whether all water use should be free. The final point about government tanks and improving the system is also brief. The response is 56 words below the required minimum, so there is limited space to develop your argument. Extend each main point with explanation or a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, followed by paragraphs signposted with “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover.” This makes the main stages easy to follow, and the ideas generally progress from basic need to health and provision. To strengthen the organisation further, make the purpose of the final paragraph clearer: it shifts from reasons for free water to how the government might provide it, then to personal responsibility, without explaining how these points connect. Some links are also mechanical, with each paragraph relying on a sequencing word rather than showing the relationship between claims. Use clearer references and transitions, and develop each paragraph around one central point so the progression feels more connected.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “basic need,” “water bills,” “clean water,” and “dangerous diseases.” The topic is clear throughout, but the range is limited and several word-choice, word-form and spelling errors make the expression noticeably awkward. Examples include “Cleans water,” “a better live,” “stomach problem,” and “society healthier and happiness.” “Clean drink tank” is also unclear as a description of infrastructure. Aim to learn common topic collocations and check whether a word needs to be a noun, adjective or verb. More precise phrases would help you explain the argument without repeating “water” and “people” so often.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You mainly use short, simple sentences, with some attempts to connect ideas through clauses, such as “If the government provides free water, poor families can…” and “dirty water can causes…”. This gives the response some structural variety, but control is uneven. Errors include “can a better live,” “can causes,” “people also should water clean,” and “the number of diseases will become lower.” There are also inconsistent spaces before punctuation, which affects presentation. Practise accurate modal-verb patterns (“can” plus the base verb), subject–verb agreement, and complete sentence structures. Then combine some simple statements into correctly formed complex sentences to show a wider range while keeping meaning clear.
