Student answer (Band 6.0)
Water is essential for our daily life and it is the foremost human right to access clean water, but it should not given free of cost to each home. I completely disagree to this statement. This essay will discuss the reasons for disagrement.
One of the main reasons is that people will not value water. when water is freely available to every home, they will not it use propely and just waste it. For example, they will waste water to wash the car which can be done by just wiping it. Moreover, they will over watering the plants which they have not any need. Consequently, they just randomly waste water without knowing its worth.
Another reason is that if the government give free of charge water supply then all water resources will soon reduced. Because when water is freely available, it will cause the reduction of water resources. Therefore, the government have impose taxes and set bills limit on standard use of water useage to avoid the excessive use of water. As a result, people use it now in limited range and cautionly. As if the limited range of water exceed then they will have to pay extra money which limit them to use it properly.
In conclusion, as water is the basic human right but its free supply to each home is not good. Due to two main reasons first they will not value it and second soon the water resources will be dcrease. So that is why it should come with charge.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you disagree that household water should be free, and the conclusion restates this view. You give two relevant reasons—people may waste water if it costs nothing, and free provision could put pressure on water resources—and illustrate the first with examples involving car washing and watering plants. However, the second reason is less fully explained: the link between charging households and protecting resources is asserted rather than supported with a specific example or explanation of how charges encourage conservation. The opening also recognises clean water as a human right, but you could address more directly how that right can be protected while households still pay for supply. Developing these points more evenly would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around separate reasons, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “One of the main reasons,” “Another reason,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the progression. The examples are placed in the relevant paragraph, and the central argument remains easy to identify. To strengthen cohesion further, reduce mechanical linking and make the relationship between ideas more precise. For instance, “Because when water is freely available” repeats the preceding point, while “As if the limited range of water exceed” does not clearly connect the condition to the consequence. Use clearer references and transitions so each sentence builds naturally on the previous one.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “water resources,” “water supply,” “excessive use,” and “human right.” The examples also show an attempt to express specific household uses rather than relying entirely on general statements. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, as in “free of cost,” “set bills limit,” “limited range,” and “use it properly.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “disagrement,” “propely,” “useage,” and “dcrease.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall position, but they reduce precision and fluency. Aim for more natural phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “when water is freely available to every home” and a result clause beginning “Consequently.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. Examples include “it should not given” (missing a passive verb form), “the government give” and “the government have impose” (subject–verb and verb-form problems), and “water resources will soon reduced” (missing the appropriate verb construction). Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, particularly the fragment beginning “Because” and the final “As if” construction. Practise accurate passive forms, agreement, and complete conditional sentences while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
