Student answer (Band 6.0)
Avalibility of clean water is the basic human right as a result every home should have free supply of clean water free of charge. I partially agree with this statment because providing clean water supply to every home will be quit challenging it will also effect the economy so it should not be free governments sholud charge some ammount to tackel pressure on economy.
Although drinking clean water has several benefits but it should not be totally free becuase it will effect the governments financially for example there is alot of infrastructure need for the clean water system and to built the infrastructure alot of funding is required. Secondly it is a quite challenging task to built a clean water system for a cities that are already developed and infrastructure cost will be doubled in this case for example a city that is not a planned well and now government decided to provide people clean drinking water they can face several challanges and to solve these challanges governments should spent more fuds to meet the rquirements of these funding issues small price of water should be added to bills.
Talking about the benefit of clean water. One of the major benefit is that there will be less pressure on health care sector because when more people drink clean water the less the get ill. Consequently, there will be less pressure on hospital and doctors for instance a city named islamabad in pakistan is a pre planned city and it has good infrastructure for clean water. Government published the statical data of patients of typhoid ( a disease casued by drinking dirty water) it is the least in amoung all cities. This should be taken as example that how can governments should save funds from health care sector and utilize them in other sector like improving economny.
In conclusion, Clean drinking water is a basic human need and can be easily available to the people. However, it cannot be provided free of cost governments should charge small amount of tax on it to avoid getting shortage of funds.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you partly disagree with free provision and argue that households should pay a small amount to help fund infrastructure. You address both the cost of supplying water and its health benefits, and the Islamabad example gives your discussion some relevant support. This meets the task well, while showing some of the development expected at a stronger level. However, the argument is not fully balanced: the health benefit is explained, but its connection to your proposal about charging is not made explicit. The claim that water “cannot be provided free of cost” is also asserted rather than weighed against alternatives such as public funding or support for low-income households. Develop these points to make your reasoning more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The first body paragraph focuses on infrastructure costs, while the next discusses health benefits, so the reader can follow the main line of thought. You also use signposts such as “Secondly,” “Consequently” and “In conclusion.” However, some links feel mechanical, and the progression between ideas is not always smooth. For example, the paragraph beginning “Talking about the benefit” shifts from health outcomes to the claim that savings can improve the economy without clearly connecting that point to charging for water. The long first body paragraph also contains several ideas that would be clearer if separated and linked more precisely. Use referencing and transitions to show how each example supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “infrastructure,” “health care sector,” “funding” and “shortage of funds,” which helps communicate the main argument. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “pre-planned city” and “statistical data.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, for example “Avalibility,” “quite challenging task to built,” and “save funds from health care sector.” Repetition of “clean water,” “government” and “funds” also limits flexibility. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they reduce precision and fluency. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations, such as “build infrastructure,” “put pressure on hospitals,” and “allocate savings to other sectors.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures such as “when more people drink clean water, the less they get ill” and a relative clause in “a city that is not planned well.” This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction and agreement sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “Although drinking clean water has several benefits but…” incorrectly combines two contrasting conjunctions, while “a city … they can face” shifts from singular to plural. The opening also contains a run-on sentence, and several sentences lack clear punctuation. Practise building accurate complex sentences, checking subject–verb agreement and using one conjunction for each relationship. More consistently controlled sentences would make your argument easier to follow.
