Student answer (Band 5.5)

The one of the most significant and basic need of our life is water. The scientist says that human body consists of 80% of water that show how important is it.

The 'water' it does means that 'clean water' because nobody wants to drink impure water. Everyone have right to have clean and pure drinking water. Water is a naturally exsiting thing that must supply to everyone without any charge and this is the main responsibility of the government. The government should take fruitful steps to provide the basic needs of people.

In ground reality there are lot of problems to supply the pure water to every home. Mainly, the poor drainery and waste diffusal system. Sometime the water supply line just merged to the other dirty ingridients that spoil the purity of water and mostly the drainage system is underground and in that situation its hard to find the effected area which cause the dirty water.

The dirty water is very injirious to our health and and as we know healthy body has healthy mind. For example a human body in consuming the bad water which contains bad bectarias and virus that definitly effect the body parts and latar cause death.

Government should take a quick action in the effected areas where the pure water is needed and make sure the supply must be free of cost. The some of private companies are taking over this problem for buisness purpose. They are trying to provied filtered water in packging and charging for that and the people who are not supplied the pure water by government are forced to buy that clean water.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be supplied without charge, and you connect this to government responsibility and people’s health. The discussion of contaminated pipes and the example of people having to buy bottled water are relevant to the question. However, the response focuses more on the need for clean water and problems with its supply than on why household access should specifically be free. The point about private companies is useful but would benefit from fuller explanation, such as how charges affect low-income households or how free provision could be funded. Develop these points and support them with a more specific example to address the argument more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a generally understandable order: it introduces the importance of water, describes supply problems and health risks, and ends with a recommendation. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and links such as “For example” and “The government should” guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “The ‘water’ it does means that ‘clean water’” does not clearly link the opening to the argument, while “and as we know healthy body has healthy mind” interrupts the explanation of health risks. Use clearer topic sentences and make each paragraph develop one main point, with references such as “this problem” clearly identifying what they refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “water supply,” “drainage system,” “purity,” “government,” and “filtered water,” so the reader can follow the main subject. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “contaminated” ideas expressed through the discussion of dirty water and bacteria. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning difficult to interpret: “drainery,” “waste diffusal,” “ingridients,” “injirious,” and “bectarias” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “naturally exsiting thing” and “fruitful steps.” Build accuracy with common collocations for this topic, such as “safe drinking water,” “water infrastructure,” and “take effective measures.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a cause-and-effect explanation beginning “For example” and a relative clause in “areas where the pure water is needed.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction recur. For example, “Everyone have right” should be “Everyone has the right,” and “the scientist says … that show” has an unclear subject and agreement. The sentence beginning “The dirty water is very…” also contains a repeated “and” and an incomplete or awkwardly connected explanation. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then use complex clauses with clear subjects and punctuation.
