Student answer (Band 5.5)
life cannot be imagined without water. it is necessity for living things .cleanliness of water is every basic right of every inhabitant.however, it is undeniable fact that every household ought to have access to water without any charges. I partially with this notion as giving free water will effective economy of country and not giving the water can put human life in danger .
To begin, every human have right to get free accesibilty of water as it is natural resource and is very neccesary for humans to live . therefore water shoukd not be charged because it may poor people in problem . to examplify, if charges are implemented on water poor people will not be able to afford that and they may have to suffer however, the rich people will afford it easily . furthermore , it will only effect poor people the will not be able to arrange water for themselves to drink and important household chores
on the other hand ,charges should be implemented in water in order to prevent water wastage . nowdays water from the world is declining at an exponential rate there are several places there is huge shirgate of water therefore in ordeer to cope up with that snag small fee should be charged . for instance, if if individuals start pay extra money to water they will reduce the habit of misusing it .while will directly put huge image on the water shortages issue that world is facing.
To conclude,i firmly believe that even if poor people have to struggle to arrange water but small amount charges should be applied so that water wastage can be reduced and water is used only for imprtant purposes instead of flowing it like a waste

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the central issue and give a partly qualified position: you support free access for people who cannot afford water, but argue that a small charge could discourage waste. The two body paragraphs offer relevant reasons, including affordability and conservation, and you attempt to illustrate them with examples. However, the position is not fully clear: the introduction says you “partially” agree, while the conclusion says charges should be applied, without explaining how this would protect poorer households. Several claims, such as free water improving the economy, are introduced but not developed. Clarify exactly who should pay, whether a basic amount should be free, and how your examples support that policy.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. “To begin” and “on the other hand” signal the shift between affordability and preventing waste, so the reader can identify the main stages of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from a right to affordability and then household chores without clearly connecting each point. Linking words are also repetitive or awkwardly used, and the conclusion does not resolve the tension between free access and charging users. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, explain it, and then give a directly relevant example; use clear references to connect ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “natural resource,” “water wastage,” “water shortages” and “household chores,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “giving free water will effective economy,” “cope up with that snag” and “put huge image on the water shortages issue.” Spelling errors, including “accesibilty,” “neccesary” and “shirgate,” also reduce accuracy and can slow the reader. Build a reliable set of phrases for discussing affordability, public services and conservation, and check spelling and word forms. Prefer precise, natural combinations over attempting expressions whose meaning is uncertain.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if charges are implemented” and a contrast introduced by “however.” These attempts show some range, but complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors make parts of the argument difficult to read. Examples include “every human have right,” “I partially with this notion,” and “if individuals start pay extra money,” which show problems with agreement, missing words and verb forms. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in the opening run-on sequence and the final paragraph. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build longer sentences with correct subjects, articles and verb patterns; proofread each sentence for a complete grammatical structure.
