Student answer (Band 6.0)
Access to clean water is a basic right of every human being on earth and every home should be provided with water supply free of charge. I completely agree with this statement because water plays an essential part in our daily life and new borns should be given clean water only because of their low immune system.
First of all, clean water is very crucial for every house. It is used in cooking, cleaning and for drinking as well which keeps us alive. Someone who have to go out to bring clean water waste most of their time in travelling or waiting in a queue. It can cause late arrival of children in school which can cause stress and may effect their studies as well. For example, people who live in village start their day by going out early in the morning to bring clean drinking water home which is tiring and stressfull as well.
Secodly, every year, there are hundreds of deaths of new born babies which is caused by giving them contaminated water. People living in asia or africa use normal tap water to make formula milk which is very dangerous for babies health and can cause serious health issues. For example, between 1800 and 2000 there were thousands of deaths of new born babies in africa because low income families or people living in areas far from cities don't have access to clean drinking water.
In conclusion, Clean water supply should be available in every home without any fee. It will save everyone a lot of time as well as less health issues in childrens.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you agree that every home should receive clean water without charge. You give relevant reasons about daily needs, time spent collecting water, and risks to babies, with examples to support them. This covers the task well, and the discussion of water collection is particularly easy to follow. However, some claims are broad or insufficiently explained, such as the assertion that contaminated water caused thousands of infant deaths in Africa between 1800 and 2000. The argument would be more convincing if you explained how free household provision could be funded and distinguished access to clean water from making unlimited use free. Develop the health example with more precise, credible support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all” and “Secondly” help readers identify the progression, and the examples generally follow the points they illustrate. Some links are mechanical, however, and repeated use of “which can cause” makes the reasoning sound less fluid. In the first body paragraph, the move from collecting water to children arriving late at school needs a clearer explanation of how often this happens and why. Use a wider range of linking and referencing, and make the relationship between each claim and its example more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant terms such as “contaminated water,” “immune system,” and “low-income families.” There are also attempts at more specific language, for example “formula milk” and “access to clean drinking water.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “a basic right of every human being on earth,” “normal tap water,” and “less health issues.” Spelling errors such as “Secodly,” “stressfull,” and “new borns” are noticeable and reduce precision. Aim for more natural academic phrasing and check spelling carefully; this will make your argument clearer and more polished.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “which,” and “who,” and the overall meaning is usually clear. Some sentence patterns are controlled, such as “It is used in cooking, cleaning and for drinking.” However, errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction remain noticeable. For example, “Someone who have” should use a singular verb, while “every house” and “every home” need more consistent article and number control in context. The sentence about infant deaths is also awkwardly constructed, and the final phrase “in childrens” has an incorrect plural form. Review subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences carefully, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
