Student answer (Band 5.5)
The acess to clean water is a matter of quite debate. Many individuals believe that clean water supply should be essential for everyone. Therefore every home should have a water connection that is provided free of cost. I completly agree with this opinion because in my thought i believe that clean water supply should be the basic human rights to everyone.
To commence, with in my opinion many countries in the world did not have any clean water supply to their homes. For example in many African countries like Nigeria,Somalia etc individuals do not have acess to clean water.Infact, they did not have any filtration plants in the society. They were forced to drink dirty water from the lakes. This caused many diseases. Now if the authorities would take actions and provided them with the suitable drinking plants. This action can save the lives of many Peoples.
On the other hand, clean drinking water is also very essential for human health. But in some countries like middle east where they have shortage of water. sometimes people purchases water bottles from the market. The water cost more than the regular soda bottle. So in my opinion in these countries government should provide peoples drinking warter with free of cost.Because everyone did not afford the price of the water bottle.
So in conclusion I completly agree with the fact that clean water supply should be the basic right of human being.Everyone would deserve to have clean drinking water in their homes. So in my opinion the international organisations like WHO would probably help to solve these problems . In those countries having suffering from poverty.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you agree that clean water should be available to every household. You give relevant reasons, including the health risks of unsafe water and the difficulty some people face affording bottled water, and the examples of Nigeria and Somalia help connect the argument to real situations. However, the two main points are not developed equally. The discussion of water shortages and bottled water is brief, and the response does not fully explain how free household supply could be provided or funded. The reference to international organisations such as WHO is also introduced only at the end, without explaining their role. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation and a specific supporting example to make the argument more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting related reasons, and a conclusion. This makes the overall argument understandable, and phrases such as “For example” and “So in conclusion” signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. The first body paragraph moves from lack of water access to filtration plants, disease, and government action without clearly connecting each step. The second paragraph begins “On the other hand,” although it adds support for the same position rather than presenting a contrasting view. Some linking phrases are also repetitive or awkwardly placed. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, and connect examples and explanations more explicitly; reserve contrast markers for genuinely opposing ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “clean water supply,” “filtration plants,” “shortage of water,” and “international organisations,” so the reader can follow the subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less natural. Examples include “a matter of quite debate,” “provided free of cost,” “drinking plants,” and “peoples drinking warter.” “Clean water” and “water supply” are also repeated frequently. Aim for more precise, natural expressions and check spelling carefully; for example, use “a matter of considerable debate,” “provided free of charge,” and “water-treatment facilities.” Vary repeated terms with accurate alternatives such as “safe drinking water” or “household water access,” while ensuring the alternatives fit the meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional phrasing such as “if the authorities would take actions” and clauses explaining consequences. The main ideas remain understandable, but errors in sentence construction and control occur across the response. For instance, “This action can save the lives of many Peoples” has an inconsistent capitalisation and number pattern, while “Because everyone did not afford the price” is an incomplete sentence and uses an unclear negative construction. The final phrase, “In those countries having suffering from poverty,” is also not a complete sentence. Review sentence boundaries, verb forms, articles, and subject–verb agreement. Build complex sentences carefully, then check that each sentence has a complete main clause and that its meaning is clear.
