Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify several relevant changes, including the replacement of the track by a road, the addition of a farm shop and camping field, and the continued presence of the river. However, the response addresses the plan only minimally: it omits major developments such as the holiday cottages and second parking area, and does not clearly compare the farm’s overall use in 1950 and today. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: the sheep area is now associated with camping and solar panels, rather than being simply a solar-panel site, and the barn’s position is not adequately described. The response is also 73 words, below the required 150, so the main features are not sufficiently reported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response contains a basic sequence of comparisons, moving from the earlier layout to present-day features and then to the road and river. This gives the reader some sense of change, and the final sentence attempts to summarise what remained. However, the ideas are compressed into one paragraph and the relationships between them are often difficult to follow. For example, “while in todays pilot sees the fruits trees” does not clearly connect the present-day features, and “Area occupaid by the sheep yard in 1950s” begins a new point without a clear link to the previous sentence. Use a clear overview followed by separate, logically grouped comparisons, with accurate linking phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt some task-relevant vocabulary, including “fruit trees,” “farm shop,” “solar panels,” “track,” “road,” and “river,” so the reader can recognise several features of the plans. However, the range is limited and some word choices or spellings make the meaning difficult to recover: “run way,” “pilot,” “campaign fields,” and “sheep yard” do not accurately name the features shown. “Scouts and other visitors occasionally come” adds unsupported detail rather than describing the map. Aim for precise map vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; terms such as “camping field,” “sheep-grazing area,” and “internal road” would communicate the changes more reliably.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You make an attempt to compare the two time periods, including through “while,” and use a few simple sentence patterns. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors frequently make the relationships between features unclear. For instance, “In 1950s run way liad besides of the fruit and sheep yard” lacks a clear subject and has problems with articles and prepositions, while “in todays pilot sees” does not form a complete, accurate clause. The final sentence also shifts between singular and plural forms in “Track has been replaced … while rivers … remained.” Practise complete subject–verb clauses, past-versus-present tense, and articles, then build comparisons with patterns such as “In 1950, X was…, whereas today it is…”.
