IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The given images depict the map of Beechwood farm in 1950 and the upgraded outline of today.

It is clear from the plans that farm had underwent some renovation and has adapted few latest technologies.

Earlier, there were tracks for transportation which are now converted into roads. To add on, the north-east corner was previously occupied by sheep is now divided in 2 regions, a set up of solar panels and a camping field. In addition, two new parkings have been built up on both corners of the road.

Meanwhile, previous barn is replaced by holiday cottages and is shifted at the central triangle of the roads. Some sections are still remained as they were previously in 1950, such as sections of soft fruits, vegetables, farmhouse and chickens, with an addition of a farm shop inside the borders of fruit trees.

To conclude, Beechwood farm had gone under some refurbition and has developed many facilities.
