The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The below diagram illustrates the site of a farm in the 20th century and compares it to that of today. Th site shows the various developments which took place over the years.

The plan of Beechwood farm takes place on the side of the road, along side a narrow river. In 1950, it had plans for growing of fruits, vegetables and various farm animals. It had plans to contain a farmhouse, a barn along with a large herd of sheep. It had three sections containing fruit trees, soft trees and vegetables and a long track in the middle.

Today, even with many advancements, the farm still includes its original plans of a farmhouse and plantation with multiple cost cutting initiatives. The changes in plans of the site of Beechwood farm include the construction of a parking and holiday cottages. It even includes a camping field for various visitors to relax in and enjoy nature. The track has been improved to a road and solar panel are installed as a way of conserving energy.

The site still has its old plans and now gave outsiders to experience its charm.
