The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 7.5)

The plans show the site of Beechwood Farm in 1950 and how it looks today.

Overall, the farm has changed from a place used only for farming into a place that also welcomes tourists. The track has become a proper road, and some of the farmland has been used for new facilities, while other parts of the farm have stayed the same.

In 1950, a dirt track led from the main road down to the barn and farmhouse. Today, this track has been turned into a paved road, and a parking area has been added near the entrance. The field that used to be used for sheep is now used for a camping field and solar panels.

There are also some new buildings that were not there before. A farm shop and parking have been added near the entrance, and holiday cottages have been built close to the farmhouse. However, the fruit trees, soft fruits, vegetables, chickens, and farmhouse are all still in roughly the same places as before.
