Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have successfully identified the main features of the farm site in both 1950 and the present day. You provided a clear overview and made relevant comparisons, such as noting the unchanged elements and the new additions like the camping field and solar panels. However, the response lacks precision in describing locations, and some details are slightly inaccurate or confusingly phrased, such as the description of the barn's new position. To improve, ensure that spatial relationships are described more clearly and accurately, and avoid repetitive lists of features. Overall, you have addressed all parts of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression from the past to the present. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are issues with referencing and sentence structure that occasionally disrupt the flow. For example, the transition between the description of the 1950 map and the present day could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'culminate', 'renovated', and 'established'. However, there are several spelling errors ('chinkens', 'sheeps', 'vegatable', 'renowated', 'holidau', 'ploy') and word choice issues that occasionally impede clarity. While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading. To reach a higher band, focus on using precise terminology for map descriptions and ensure that spelling is accurate, especially for common words related to the task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include incorrect verb tenses ('sheeps was captured'), subject-verb agreement errors ('Farm house is remain same'), and missing articles or incorrect prepositions ('in South-East corner of the phan'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles in descriptive writing.
