The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The map shows the site of Beechwood Farm in 1950 and compared it with today. The farm is situated on the left side of the road and on the bank of the river. It contains different portions for different things in 1950 as well as today. The first map shows the structure of farm in 1950. It contains an area where fruit trees were spread. Next to it, there was a area for soft fruits and vegetables were also growing besides it. There was a Farmhouse for chickens there and a Barn. The track was laying there which separate the a large area for sheep. On the other hand, The farm becomes great in facilities as it has a Farm shop and a Parking now for visitors. However, the track has been developed into a road. The holiday cottages are made in place of barn and the barn is shifted near to the farmhouse and located on the fork or the road. The large area for sheep transformed into camping field which are for visitors. In addition, there are Solar panels in the farm which provides electricity to farm.
