IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram compares the main features of a beechwood farm of 1950 and how it looks today.

In 1950, the beechwood farm had limited facilities.

Overall, old farm had limited facilities now it has been transferred to more modernized. Farm install solar panels, add shop and parking in today beechwood farm.

The farm had a huge sheep area and beside this poor track that connects the farm. One side of the farm used as agricultural field to cultivate different crops (vegetables, soft fruits, fruit trees). Beside the track there was Barn , Farmhouse and chickens which located near the river.

Today, Beechwood farm installed many new technologies. The vast sheep area has been changed, it has solar panels, two parking places for vehicles. Moreover, now it has camping field for farm's visitors. On agricultural side there has been a farm shop. Today's structure of farm has changed the position of barn from single road at the junction of two roads and added in place of barn holiday cottages.
