Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response provides a clear overview of the changes, identifying the main trends such as the repurposing of the sheep area and the modernization of the infrastructure. However, the response is incomplete, as it cuts off abruptly at the end, failing to describe the final section of the farm. While the key features are selected and reported, the lack of a conclusion and the unfinished sentence prevent a higher score. To improve, ensure all parts of the visual data are covered and the response is fully completed before the time limit.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, starting with an overview and moving to specific details. Cohesive devices such as 'In 1950', 'However', and 'By present' are used to guide the reader. However, the abrupt ending significantly disrupts the flow and coherence of the final paragraph. Additionally, some referencing is slightly mechanical. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear concluding thought and that transitions between sentences are smoother and more varied.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, using terms like 'repurposed', 'renovated', and 'infrastructure' (implied). There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'vital garden' instead of 'essential gardens' or 'parking place' instead of 'parking spaces'. The range is sufficient to convey the main points, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on more precise collocations and ensuring pluralization is correct will help improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'there is three vital garden' (subject-verb agreement and pluralization) and 'on the opposite side of of the track' (repetition). Punctuation is generally functional, but the incomplete final sentence is a major issue. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity of the writing. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring grammatical accuracy is essential.
