The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The following maps are describing about the alterations that took place at a farm during the time period since 1950 till now.

Overall, the farm named Beechwood developed significantly by adding new areas into it like camping field, farm shops and some other facilities such as installation of solar panels as well as construction of parking area.

In 1950, major part of the farm was allotted to sheep in the farm, which nowadays divided into different sections namely solar panels in Northeast corner besides this is now parking, also camping fields are built there as well. All the roads now used to be tracks in the past. In the Southeast direction of the farm, there was a farmhouse and place for chickens which remained unchanged.

By looking at today's map, it is clearly visible that new farm shop is founded by shortening the fruit trees side, however, soft fruits and vegetables sections are still same as no change had been made in it. In East part of the Beechwood farm, a Barn was replaced with holiday cottages and it's new location is the end of triangular road in South. As far as river is concerned, nothing new is introduced in it.
