The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The blue prints represent the location of a farm in 1950 and how the place looks today.

Overall, it is clearly seen that there has been an attempt to convert the farm house into a picnic area by adding some holiday cottages in addition to some amenities like parking, camping field and solar panels.

In the northeast there was a space for sheep, fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables and in the last section there were chickens, a barn and farmhouse. At one end of the land is surrounded by a river and the starting point is connected to a road. In between the agricultural site we can see tracks.

In today’s date the same land is very developed when compared to the year 1950. A camp ground has been allotted with the parking space. Solar panels have been installed in the area which was previously allotted for sheep. Near the fruit trees area a farm shop has been added. Additionally, in the last section the spot for the barn is now holiday cottages, the chickens and farmhouse remain the same. The tracks are now replaced with the roads in the middle of the agricultural region.
