IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The maps display the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site now.
Overall, today the site has been modernized with advanced amenities. Nature friendly things are added after the redevelopment. the site was firstly used as a farm and now it is converted into a tourist spot.
Initially, the farm was located near the riverside connected by a main road. Two different categories of fruits (Fruit trees, soft fruits) were grown there and besides that there was a space for vegetables. On the corner there was some space for chickens and other domestic animals. The large area of the farm was acquired by the sheep. All these things were connected by a track.
Today, area for sheep is converted into a camping sight with additional facilities of parking and solar panel. Far shop is inaugurated in the section of fruit trees. Walking track is now became a road. The space of barn is reduced and shifted into the corner and Holiday cottages are constructed in the space.
