Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers the main features of the farm in 1950 and today, identifying key changes such as the road, solar panels, and holiday cottages. However, the analysis is somewhat descriptive rather than analytical. While you mention the removal of the track and the addition of the road, you could improve by more clearly contrasting the agricultural focus of the past with the commercial/tourism focus of the present. The overview is present but could be more concise and integrated. You successfully identified the main trends, but the report lacks a more sophisticated synthesis of the spatial changes, which would elevate the score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on the two time periods. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'For instance'. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by repetitive phrasing and some mechanical transitions. For example, the phrase 'on the different side of farm' is vague and lacks clear spatial referencing. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that you use a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly rather than relying on simple sentence-by-sentence progression.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to describe the farm features (e.g., 'solar panels', 'holiday cottages', 'sheep area'). However, there are several spelling errors ('pannels', 'teo', 'paring') and word choice issues ('structure of the a farm', 'things add in the farm'). The range is somewhat limited, and you rely on basic descriptors. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology for describing changes, such as 'transformed', 'replaced', 'converted', or 'integrated', and ensure you proofread for basic spelling accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the reader. Issues include missing articles ('the structure of the a farm'), incorrect verb forms ('new road build'), and subject-verb agreement errors ('there are many thing add'). While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs are correctly conjugated and that articles are used consistently before nouns.
