The map elucidates changes made to Beechwood farm of 1950 to the current one.

Overall, it is apparent that the area sheep underwent significant development and also there has been parking zones and camping field introduced in farm.

To begin with, the farm shop has been built adjacent to fruit trees, wherease soft fruits, vegatables, farmhouse and chickens area remained unchanged. The track has been converted into road now. It is noticeable that the location and size of the barn has been changed from the road near to farm house to the intersection of road beside the vegetables area. At the previous location of barn there has been new holiday cottages introduced.

The sheep area experienced considerable development. There has been two parking added, the one opposite to holiday cottages and another opposite to farm shop. The establishment of camping area covered almost half of the sheep area and solar panels are planted in the remained zone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The response covers the main features of the maps, including the addition of new facilities and the transformation of existing areas. You successfully identified key changes such as the conversion of the track to a road and the repurposing of the sheep area. However, the overview is slightly underdeveloped; while it mentions the sheep area and new facilities, it could be more comprehensive by summarizing the overall trend of commercialization or modernization. The description of the barn relocation is clear, but ensure that all comparisons are precise. Overall, you have addressed the requirements of the task well, providing a clear summary of the spatial changes between 1950 and the present day.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs that group information thematically. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To begin with' and 'It is noticeable that', to guide the reader. However, the flow between some sentences is slightly mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. For instance, the transition between the description of the barn and the holiday cottages could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different aspects of the farm's development, which helps the reader follow the progression of changes effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'elucidates', 'adjacent', and 'intersection' appropriately. There are some minor spelling errors, such as 'wherease' (whereas) and 'vegatables' (vegetables), and some awkward phrasing like 'remained zone' instead of 'remaining zone'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, incorporating more precise collocations related to map descriptions—such as 'situated in the northern part' or 'underwent a transformation'—would elevate the lexical score. The current range is functional but lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'there has been parking zones' (should be 'there have been'), 'the track has been converted into road now' (missing article 'a'), and 'at the previous location of barn' (missing article 'the'). These errors occur frequently but do not impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures, such as using passive voice more consistently or relative clauses, would also help improve your score in this criterion.
