The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The given map illustrates the information about the Beechwood Farm in 1950 and the present time.

Overall, a positive development can be observed over the time period. Moreover, many places have been replaced with others. However, the farmhouse, chickens, vegetables and soft fruits remained in their places.

In 1950, sheep can be noticed on the north side of the map. Moreover, on the east side, fruit trees and soft fruits can be seen. On the opposite side, in the west, a barn and a farmhouse were built. In addition, chickens and a river can be seen in the south-west. A centre of attraction is the tracks and the vegetables.

Nevertheless, at present, the sheep have been replaced by a camping field and solar panels. The farmhouse, chickens, vegetables, fruit trees and soft fruits remained in their place. The barn is connected to the road. The farm shops and parking have been introduced.
