IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The illustrations depict the changes that took place in a farm since 1950 to today.

Overall, the largest area which was devoted to sheeps in 1960 replace by recreational and renewable energy plans, while the farmhouse and other farms remained unchanged and a barn was relocated.

Small portion of the ground for sheeps in 1995 is paved over to built car parks and the remaining are of the ground allocated for campers and solar panels to produce electricity. The ancient tracks in 1950 is paved over to built roads. A farm shop is now opened in the field of fruit trees opposite to the car park.

The old barn is replaced by holiday cottages and a new barn is erected at the lower side of the map, connected to thr roads.

However, the vegetable, soft fruits and fruit tress fields remained unchanged. The farmhouse and the place for chicken is same since 1950.
