IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Overall, the farm has changed a lot over the years. Some parts, such as the fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetable fields, have stayed the same. However, many new facilities have been added, including a camping field, solar panels, paring areas and holiday cottages.

In 1950, the biggest area of the farm is the sheep area in the north. On the left side of the farm there is a fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetable near the river. On the right side, there was a barn, a farmhouse and a place for chickens. The different arts of the farm were connected by tracks.

Today, the fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetable fields are still in the same places. A farm shop has been built near the fruit trees, and a parkin area has been made beside it. The sheep fields ahs been replaced by a camping field and a large area of solar panels. Another parkin area has been installed with the solar panel. In addition, the barn has been moved closer to the vegetables, while holiday cottages have been built where the barn was before. Finally, the old tracks have been changed into roads.
