Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you identified some key features such as the farm shop, solar panels, and the removal of sheep, the description is underdeveloped. You missed reporting on the significant expansion of the farmhouse and the conversion of the vegetable garden into a camping field. The overview is present but lacks sufficient detail to fully capture the transformation of the site. To improve, ensure you provide a comprehensive summary of all major changes and meet the length requirement to allow for full development of your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into short paragraphs, but the logical progression is hindered by the lack of cohesive devices. Transitions like 'later' and 'apart from that' are used, but the flow between sentences is often disjointed. The paragraphing is inconsistent, with some sentences appearing as isolated fragments, such as 'modern Beechwood farm.' To improve, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to connect ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. You used basic terms like 'constructed' and 'modified' repeatedly. There are also some awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'obsenced' (likely a misspelling of observed) and 'In today's' (which should be 'Today'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to urban planning and land use, such as 'converted', 'transformed', 'replaced', or 'integrated'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'The given below show' (missing noun), 'on road side farm shop' (incorrect preposition/article usage), and 'all the products of Beechwood have been sold' (tense inconsistency). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
