The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The plans illustrate the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Overall, it is evident that the farm underwent considerable transformation during this period. The area became more developed with the introduction of a farm shop, parking, camping field, solar solar panels, road and holiday cottages.

Looking at the north eastern part of the area, several changes can be observed. In 1950, it was largely occupied by sheep. However, by today it has been replaced by a parking, a camping field and the solar panels. In addition to that, the track has been developed to a road.

Turning to the remaining parts of the map, further developments occurred. A farm shop was introduced within the fruit trees, the barn was relocated, and the holiday cottage was constructed in between the road and the farmhouse. Furthermore, some features including the chickens, farmhouse, vegetables and the soft fruits remained unchanged.
