IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given plan illustrates a reconstruction of farm from the old farm in 1950.

Overall, the construction of new areas such as farm shop, holiday cottages, two parkings and camping field have been made compared to 1950.

The maps clearly show that the trasformation of old Beechwood farm in new one, on the north-west side near the fruit trees a new area called 'farm shop' has been constructed, soft fruits and vegetables remained the same while in chickens compartment and the old barn had been replaced by holiday cottages and barn moved to the track. Two parkings has been constructed one on the opposite side of holiday cottage nearby installed solar panels and other near the main road in the north side. Camping field is in the central area where it was sheep area. Track has been replaced by road. River and the main road remained the same in both maps.
