IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The following diagram draws comparison between the site of a today and what it was in the year 1950. In early times, the area was a typical farmland, planted trees, shelters livestock and river running along it's boundary. However, over time it's underwent through the process of development, and is currently equipped with new facilities.

In 1950s, the area seemed to be an ordinary farmland area, divided into multiple sections for different purposes, the three sections along side the river were dedicated to fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables, beside it resided the chicken coop, a farmhouse and a barn. The biggest section was devoted to the sheep.

With the modernization and rise of technology, the farm went by the process of development. New farm shops were built for selling the farm produce. Holiday cottages, Parking and camping area, providing tourism facilities. Solar Panels installed for providing electricity supporting the development undertaken
